Dear Distinguished Guests, Esteemed Colleagues, and Friends,
It is with profound honor and heartfelt pleasure that I extend a warmwelcome to each of you to the International Asian Cancer and Chronic Disease Screening Network (IACCSN). The IACCS Network serves as a vital platformfor dialogue, collaboration, and innovation on a global scale. By bringing together diverse expertise and experiences, we can collectively tackle the pressing challenges in cancer screening and harness the potential of emerging technologies. Together, we have the opportunity to redefine the future of cancer prevention and control, not only across Asia but worldwide.
Over the past decades, cancer screening has undergone a remarkable transformation. We have witnessed the evolution from evidence-based screening models, which laid the foundation for population-wide interventions, to precision risk-based screening paradigms, which leverage individual risk factors and biomarkers to enhance accuracy and efficacy. Today, as we stand on the cusp of a new era, we are integrating cutting-edge technologies into cancer screening, ushering in the age of smart screening within the metaverse. We have
to keep abreast of finding and developing new methodologies on the evaluation of novel cancer and chronic disease screening models that is the main mission of IACCSN.From 2004 to 2024, a series of IACCS meetings have been organized toaddress topics aligned with this transformative journey in Asian countries. Last year (2023), we initiated the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Cancer Screening” in Japan. This year, we are delighted to see our friend, ProfessorYeol Kim, take the initiative to host the IACCS meeting in Korea with thenovel theme “Smart Quality of Precision Cancer Screening,” keeping pace with the current trends in cancer and chronic disease screening.
I encourage each of you to engage actively, share your insights, andinspire one another as we embark on this journey of innovation and collaboration. Let us build upon the foundation of evidence-based practices,
refine our approaches through precision, and embrace the smart health technologies that will define the future.
